Migration Checklist
- Is your WordPress.com to WordPress.org migration being carried out on a staging site? It should be! This will prevent damage to your live site until the new site is ready to be brought live.
- Make sure all content has been successfully migrated including pages, posts and images
- Is the functionality the same on your new site?
- Check for mobile responsiveness, test the site on your mobile device
- You can check that the meta data is correct on the new site by right clicking and selecting 'view source'. Look for the meta title and meta description in the head of the page.
- Make sure the domain prefix remains the same, if you have www in your URLs on your existing site, ensure the new site has www before the URLs also.
- Finally, make sure you move over any marketing or analytics scripts, like Google Analytics, to the new site, to prevent these connections being broken.
