Did you know that you can process test payments using Stripe on your WooCommerce website?

A test payment emulates a live payment but no money changes hands. This is a useful way of testing your website after any updates or custom code.

This should generally be done at an off peak time for your store, or if you have a larger store, on a Staging environment so your store doesn’t have to be set in test mode at all, potentially causing some friction for customers.

Activating Stripe’s Test Mode

To activate test mode, follow the below steps:

  1. Access your WordPress dashboard
  2. Go to WooCommerce > Settings > Payment
  3. Enable ‘Test Mode’

Enable Stripe test mode

Your Stripe test keys can be obtained from your Stripe dashboard in the Developer section.
